This plant is an evergreen perennial. The well-known and much-loved culinary plant is sometimes called a subshrub. The purplish-blue flowers, to 15mm long, are borne in upright racemes. The grey-green leaves are woolly.
It's shape is described as upright. It grows to a height of 0.8m and 0.8m in width. It has oval foliage that is grey. It produces flowers during early summer that are tubular in shape and blue in colour.
