Why not try out a pesto recipe? You will need 2 peeled cloves of garlic, ½ a teaspoon of salt, 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese, 3 tablespoons of olive oil, 2 cups of fresh basil leaves, ½ a cup of pine nuts and a dash of nutmeg. Pound the salt, nutmeg and garlic into a smooth paste and then pound the basil into this mixture. Work in the olive oil a little at a time. Finally add the cheese and pine nuts and mix until a smooth paste is formed. Pesto ready to serve immediately with pasta - and it is also great drizzled over tomatoes or Italian bread!
