Very easy to assemble, I think I shall probably treat the timber to prolong it's life, also add some catches to the lights to protect from wind damage, this is just tweaking a near perfect product. excellent quality product posted on 09/03/2011 by Howard G Having been dissapointed with cheap all plastic or polythene cold frames and after looking around quite a bit I bought these at the sale price. The flat pack arrived very well packaged and even has two pieces of plywood as packing to ensure it arrives in perfect condition. After unpacking it I found it very easy to assemble, the ends are hinged to make life easy, and the whole thing took no more than 10 minutes including sorting out the screws to make sure I used the right sizes as appropriate. The lightweight poly carb panels make it easy to move about but the frame is no lightweight and I am sure is going to last a long time given a bit of TLC with a timber care product. I use I found this has a much better height than some cheaper frames so there is less knocking plants as you close the lid and much more room for taller plants to harden off. As there are two hinged lids it is very easy to open either both for full ventilation, but if its draughty opening one for air but reducing draughts is easy whichever way the wind is blowing. The only thing I have changed is I have added a small catch to keep the lid closed as I have them in a fairy exposed garden but this is not a quality issue just my preference. Overall at this price the value is fantastic and is vastly superior to anything I could buy at a local garden centre at a higher price. I have absolutely no hesitation in recomending it to anyone wanting a frame this size. good value posted on 29/06/2012 by pat.s Very pleased with the product, spacious it's now full to the brim with young plants. Excellent value posted on 01/06/2012 by Bill5 This cold frame represents excellent value, compared to many others on the web and in garden centres etc. I was disappointed to find damage to one panel, but this was soon rectified by customers services. It is quite light, and will need securing if placed in a windy site. My main problem was with the delivery. Aiming for a delivery of 10-14 days, and guaranteeing delivery within 28 days means nothing as mine arrived a couple of days after this time. I was even told guaranteed delivery, actually means guaranteed dispatch. Nonetheless, the product is good value. So long as you dont need it straight away. value for money posted on 29/02/2012 This was easy to put together and represents reasonable value for the money paid.It is quite light and I,m not sure how it will survive in my windy garden. The plastic in the lid is coming away from the frame but when I contacted customer services I was immediately promised a replacement (although this is still to arrive....) Poor posted on 30/03/2012 Easy enough to put together but one lid panel had a large crack in it when I opened the box. Such a disappointment as the wooden frame would be fine if treated with some preservative.
