This plant is a deciduous bulb. Erect, purple-tinged, sword-shaped leaves and distinctively shaped, silky, pale to mid-blue flowers with yellow ‘beards’
It's shape is described as upright. It grows to a height of 0.6m and 0.3m in width. It has tapering foliage that is green. It produces flowers during early summer that are recurved in shape and blue and yellow in colour.
