Excellent composter but...
As with other purchases from Greenfingers, this was delivered quickly. I expected the plastic to be flimsy, but was pleasantly surprised by how sturdy it was. The instructions for fitting it together were very short, but they contained all the details needed. It went together surprisingly easy and I liked the fact there's somewhere to put the bottom door when it's taken off to get at the compost. The catches on the lid also mean there's no danger of the lid blowing off and they also appear very sturdy. It's in use now and looks good.
But, and this is a big but, why, oh why do Greenfingers need to use so much single use plastic to wrap their orders in for posting? Haven't they heard that there's a problem with plastic? Even though I'd had a good experience using them before, I thought twice before ordering from them this time, because of the excessive plastic they use for packaging. Unless they change their packaging policy, if I can get the same at the same price somewhere else, I would
Easy to put together in minutes, looks good and is compact. Looking forward to seeing the compost it produces.
Excellent value, very easy to assemble, sturdy, should last for years.
Very neat compost. The square form makes it a good fit in a small garden. Arrived quickly. very easy to construct and install.
Very pleased with the composter at the moment, time will tell. Well packed and quick delivery. Thanks.
Very solid and easy to erect.... very pleased with my choice after scrolling through pages & pages on internet.... great choice!!
Easy and fast to put together. Seems very stable if placed on level ground.
Unlike some other reviewers, I found it very easy to put together and not at all flimsy, and I am certainly no spring chicken! I would certainly recommend this bin.
Very pleased with it and it was easy to click together.
I'd been hunting around for a while trying to find a composter for my first allotment plot and after lots of research I'd decided on one with a full-sized, hinged lid, rather than a pull off version (which can be a nightmare to wrench off). Getting the composter from my house to the allotment site was also a consideration, so a flat-pack version was perfect for transporting and then erecting on site.
Arrived very well packaged and in excellent condition, within a couple of days of coming back in stock (clearly a very popular product). Despite being quite lightweight, once clicked together (which was dead easy to do) the composter is rigid and sturdy. I placed it on top of a sheet of chicken wire to deter rodents from entering but allowing worms to get in and do their stuff. I've placed mine in quite a sheltered spot from any howling winds so hopefully as it's being filled it won't blow over. If I thought it might move I think just a brick on the lid would suffice or maybe a few bricks butted up against the sides.
Dead chuffed so far and if I ever need a second one I'd not hesitate to buy another.
